The Milk Route is a grouping of public and community establishments and shops favorable to breastfeeding. They allow mothers to enter their establishment to breastfeed their child, without any obligation to purchase.
The Milk Route therefore aims to encourage breastfeeding in public places in order to standardize breastfeeding in the community.
As recognized in the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, everyone has the right to breastfeed their child in a public place, without discrimination, and every child has the right to be breastfed.
It is with this in mind that Nourri-Source Laval has given itself the mandate to create environments favorable to breastfeeding in commercial and community spaces.
A breastfeeding friendly place is a place where breastfeeding mothers feel welcomed and accepted. Employees recognize and support the human right to breastfeed a child in public.
Any organization or business in Laval can become a member of the Route du lait.
